Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1' has become the highest grossing film in the blockbuster fantasy franchise.
The seventh movie of the series about a boy wizard, has overtaken the first film, 2001's 'Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone', with a box office collection of USD 657 million.
The first film of the series starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, was the previous highest earner, reported Daily Mail online.
"These numbers speak to the phenomenal and enduring strength of this property, which has captivated audiences across all borders, regardless of age or culture," Jeff Robinov, President of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, said in a statement.
The success of the franchise has made it's stars among Britain's richest young celebrities.
Last year Radcliffe was estimated to have made USD 73 million from 'Harry Potter' with Watson making USD 33 million and Grint raking in USD 30 million.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows Part 2', the final movie in the series, is due for release on July 15.
