Chiranjeevi’s daughter Srija dowry harassment case Chiranjeevi’s daughter Srija has filed a dowry harassment case against her husband Sirish, according to reports. On Monday morning, Srija approached the CCS police and lodged a complaint against Sirish alleging that he was physically and mentally torturing her for last few months for dowry. According to sources, Srija told the cops that out of love, she had already given several crores of rupees to Sirish.

Hence, a case was booked under section 498 A in the police station and this was confirmed by Commissioner of Police AK Khan. He said that Srija personally came and lodged the complaint. It is learnt that the CCS police had summoned and enquired with Sirish about the complaint. Sirish’s parents would also be summoned on Tuesday for more details, the police added.

Srija, the youngest daughter of Chirajneevi, married Shirish in 2007 against the wishes of her family.
The couple are now staying in Hyderabad, sources said.

Police took Sirish and his parents into custody and interrogating as per Srija’s complaint. Sirish Bharadwaj is right now working as a member of Andhra Pradesh state censor Board.

They had eloped and married in October 2007 without the consent of Mr Chiranjeevi’s family. Srija was 19 then, and Sirish, 22.

In her complaint Srija alleged, “He started harassing me after an year of marriage. As I had married against my parents’ wishes and we are blessed with a daughter, I kept quiet. As Sirish is always expecting money from me I felt insecure and transferred all my properties to my parents. Later, the harassment increased and they kept a watch on my movements. I tolerated all this. Recently during my cousin Allu Arujn’s marriage, they called me several times to know my whereabouts. A week back he asked me to get Rs 50 lakh and after that I came home and didn’t go back. My mother-in-law was supporting him in this.”
